Objectives

The participant:

• Learns design methods in terms of selection and parametrics.
• Learns all relevant functions in context of the methods.
• Developes a complex component.
• Practices on additional individual examples.

Content

• Basis: 
  • Parametric-assiziative design, update-stable design. 
  • BREP and features, UUID, update, reference elements, orientation, coordinate systems, sketches.
• Curves:
  • Features, spine, continuities, tension, resulting curves.
• Methodical features:
  • Elements to keep/remove, Extremum, Referencing.
• EP start model:
  • Premises when constructing, Geoset external data, Geoset construction, Sub-Geoset detail areas.
• Methodical surfaces:
  • Variable shape fillet, suitcase corner, embossing/diablo, sweep, untwist surface, spatial helix, "rolling ball" filleting methodology.
• Solid modelling:
  • Introduction, premise, surface-based features, sketch-based features, dressup features, transformation and copy/transformation features, Boolean operations.

Target Group

• Partner EP designers (component developers), all partners of designers in the e-devision.

Good to know

• CATIA or CAD basic knowledge.

Prerequisites

• IdAS Roles:
  • PRISMA Basic Account.
  • CATIA V5 Engineering DE.
  • CAx castd primary.
