Objectives

The participant:

• Can actively participate in FMEA workshops and understands the relationships between FMEA phases and FMEA types.
• Can prepare structural and functional networks together with the FMEA moderator and develop measures on the basis of the error analysis.
• Can decide for which problems FMEAs can be used and can evaluate whether FMEAs have been implemented correctly.
• Can define safeguards for product and process risks from an economic point of view by using FMEAs.
• Can understand the context of special characteristics and FMEA and can develop them from a risk-based viewpoint.
• Can make the problem solving process more sustainable with living FMEAs.

• Classification in QM systems (ISO 9001/IATF 16949).
• VDA normative principles - The origin and history of the method.
• Processes and GS/AA BMW Group - Application cases of the FMEA method.
• FMEA types and their application.
• 7 steps of the FMEA.
• Filter logic of the special features according to VDA.
• Development of special features with FMEAs.
• Risk-based assurance in production (manufacturing resources, testing equipment, procurement requirements).
• Assessing the maturity level of FMEA with the VDA checklist.
• Live FMEA (design change, process change, supplier change, PQM).
