Objectives

The participant:

• Learn the basics and how Catena-X works and the selected use cases with their goals and added value.
• Understand the relevance of Catena-X both for the entire automotive industry and for the BMW Group.

Content

• The training raises awareness of the future use of Catena-X in the BMW Group and thus of the innovative way of working with BMW Group partners in the “Catena-X” data ecosystem.
• It provides basic knowledge about the structure of the value chain as well as practical use cases that demonstrate the exchange of data between the value creation stages along the chain with the help of Catena-X.
• It is taught, among other things, such as Catena-X:
  • Enables targeted recalls through the traceability of components and containment of affected vehicles.
  • Enables the networking of production and field data and thus supports early fault detection and joint root cause analysis.
  • The standardized calculation methodology for the supplier-specific CO2 footprint, coordinated in industry, provides.
  • With the product passport that provides relevant information for reuse, recycling and preparation.
  • Enables the joint use and administration of business partner data and thus the reduction of expenses for all parties involved.
