Objectives

The participant:

• Will get an introduction to FinOps principles and practices at BMW and create an understanding of how to save costs and maximize the business value of your applications in the public cloud.
• Gets to know the BMW FinOps Center of Excellence, discover the various service offerings and learn how to leverage them for cost management and optimization.
• Acquires knowledge on our Cloud Efficiency Analytics Tool (CLEA) and how it can be used to achieve cost transparency, gain insights into cloud usage patterns and get hands-on optimization recommendations.

• Introduction | Cloud is changing IT. Why we need FinOps.
• FinOps | What is FinOps? The FinOps Framework at the BMW Group.
• Your Tool | Cloud Efficiency Analytics (CLEA). How does CLEA help improve efficiency in the cloud?
• Your Contribution | Optimization strategies. What can you do to optimize costs?
• Support for you | Offerings from the FinOps Center of Excellence. Which offerings can you benefit from and contribute to?

Target Group

• Internal employees who are interested in topics related to cloud costs (AWS or Azure), regardless of whether they are already working in the cloud, will soon migrate to the cloud or are simply interested in cloud-related topics and regardless of their technical background.

• XLAB - BMW Cloud Basic 1 (currently not available).
