Objectives

The participant:

• Understands the purpose and functionality of Kamaeleon by gaining meaningful knowledge about the platform.
• Knows how to utilize Kamaeleon for tracking demand changes by creating capacity families.
• Recognizes the importance of effective collaboration between Suppliers and BMW.

Content

The Kamaeleon platform is used to identify production bottlenecks for mid-term planning. It enables Suppliers to manage capacity and flexibility by comparing BMW demand with Supplier inputted capacity.

The key features of the Kamaeleon application include:

• Collaborative Demand and Capacity Management: Kamaeleon facilitates continuous communication between BMW and Suppliers.
• Part Number Classification: Part numbers are classified as steering-relevant or not, which can be updated if the part is assigned to a different machine.
• Demand Updates: BMW's demand is stored in Kamaeleon daily as part of the planned demand update process and includes forecasts from the latest program.

Kamaeleon is a valuable addition to a Supplier’s toolbox that allows collaboration with BMW on capacity and flexibility control, ensuring the right amount of capacity is available at the right time. By the end of the class, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of Kamaeleon.
